Jon Pardi and wife Summer Duncan: From Set-Up To Forever
Country music singer Jon Pardi and wife Summer Duncan tied the knot last November 2020, and though things didn’t go as planned, it was no less amazing and magical. Duncan wore a custom gown inspired by two different designer dresses, which was just classic, sleek, timeless – but of course, with a flair – while Pardi wore a tux by Aaron McGill. After the wedding, the two danced along to Pardi’s unreleased song “Look at You.” It was just a beautiful celebration of love amid everything that has been happening.
But did you know that their love story started with the old-fashioned set-up? Yes, you heard it right. So if you’re wondering how everything unfolded, then let’s rewind to 2017.
First Chapter: The Set-Up
View this post on InstagramSummer Duncan has been a hairstylist for 13 years at the time, and after working that long, clients became family to her. One of her clients, Ellen Moxley, who knew about her failed attempts at dating, called her one day to tell her about a guy from California whom she knew very well. She told her that he had a great family and was tall, but she never mentioned what he did for a living.
The next thing she knew, the guy called him and invited him to his show. Apparently, Ellen was friends with Jon Pardi‘s mom, and his mom gave him her number. She declined and offered to attend the next time he was back in town. Then he asked her if she was down to fly to Denver the next week (he was going to perform with Rhett Atkins), and all of her girlfriends convinced her to say yes since there was nothing to lose.
And within the first five minutes, it was game over. She was just so smitten with him, and the feeling was definitely mutual. According to Pardi, she was love at first sight for the first time ever in his life.
Second Chapter: From Awkward First Kiss to Sweet Proposal
View this post on InstagramThe same night they first met, Duncan invited Pardi to eat brunch together the next morning. Initially, he replied back that he was going to have a busy day after the performance. But the next morning, when Duncan texted him about brunch again, he changed his plans and told her that he would meet her in the lobby.
After the second night of the concert, the two had to part ways, and they didn’t know when they would see each other again. Right there and then, he kissed her. Although the next few moments were quite awkward as he went back to the tour bus and left her in a parking lot waiting for her Uber.
But after that, Duncan basically traveled one week on then a week off to meet him on the road. Six months later, she moved to Nashville (even though she really didn’t want to move at all!). Then after two and a half years of dating, Pardi proposed to Duncan in October 2019 during his ‘Heartache Medication’ tour at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, where they had one of their first dates. He actually kept his proposal plan a secret even from his mom.
Who is Jon Pardi’s wife, Summer Duncan?
Summer Fawn Duncan was born in Clovis, California. There is no known information about her early life and family except that she has been working as a hairstylist for 13 years before she met Pardi in 2017. And additionally, during the early 2010s, she opened her own parlor, Tangled Salon and Spa, in Fresno, California, but the location is now closed.

The couple initially intended to have their wedding last May in Montana, overlooking the Yellowstone National Park. In an interview with Duncan, she said that they already had an entire lodge rented out for three days, but the weekend wedding extravaganza was postponed after COVID hit. And since Jon still had a full tour schedule ahead, they had a very limited time.
So, the two decided to hold their wedding last November 2020 at Saddle Woods in Tennessee. After all, there was never a right time to get married that year, and even after all the planning and replanning; they were both just happy that they got to do it. Unfortunately, since most of their families are in California, they had to downsize the wedding. They ended up with a small group of family and close friends who were in town.
For the wedding, Pardi enlisted his dad and his tour manager as his groomsmen, while Duncan’s bridesmaids were her two best friends from California and Nashville. John Murphy, Pardi’s friend and stylist, married them. But before they finally got married, they encountered a small and funny mishap. During the ring exchange, Pardi held out his right instead of his left, and so Duncan playfully told him to give out his other hand. And then he shouted, “First-timer!”
After the ceremony, the couple went in for their first dance to the tune of one of the yet-to-be-released Jon Pardi songs, “Look at You,” which he wrote for his bride.
Jon Pardi and wife Summer Duncan hope to do a wedding tour whenever possible so that they can celebrate with families and friends in Nashville, California, and Texas.
