Switched at Birth Returns for the Fifth and Final Season Tomorrow Watch our Interviews fro

Publish date: 2024-06-10

We can’t believe we’re saying this, but tomorrow is the premiere of Switched at Birth‘s FINAL SEASON 😢

For six years, The Peabody Award-winning family drama explored blended families and deaf culture, with an array of deaf and hard-of-hearing actors, and included scenes shot entirely in American Sign Language (ASL). It really opened up our eyes and the eyes of millions on how teens and young adults live their lives with a hearing disability.

In the fifth and final season of Switched at Birth, the series will once again break boundaries and reach milestones. This season will include the topical issue of campus race relations — culminating with an episode told from the perspective of several African-American characters — and the milestone 100th episode of the series.

Celeb Secrets had the opportunity to visit the set of SAB while the cast was filming their 100th episode of the series. In the interview, Lucas Grabeel, Vanessa Marano, D.W. Moffett, and Gilles Marini tell us what we can expect from their characters for the last few episodes, what it was like working on such a ground-breaking show for almost six years, and some behind-the-scenes secrets about each cast member when they are filming.

In tomorrow’s episode titled “The Call,” Daphne (LeClerc) and Bay (Marano) are so enthralled with China that they stay longer than anticipated, but after 10 months, they get an emergency call and drop everything to return home.

Once there, Daphne tries to integrate herself back into campus life but finds that things have changed without her. Bay is mixed up about her feelings towards Emmett (Sean Berdy) who is struggling with his own problems. Meanwhile, Kathryn (Lea Thompson) and John (Moffett) quarrel over her job and Regina (Constance Marie) feels guilty about a secret tryst.

We had the opportunity to see the first half of the season before anyone else, and will say that the premiere is packed with drama, including decisions that can change each character’s life that are not always for the good. So much happens to the Kennish and Vasquez family in each episode, resulting in more anticipation on what’s to come each week. Not going to lie — we wish you made this available to binge like Beyond, Freeform!

Don’t miss the season premiere of Switched at Birth tomorrow, January 31st @ 9PM ET/PT on Freeform. New episodes will continue to air throughout the winter and early spring on Tuesdays, 9PM ET/PT.

You do not want to miss this drama-filled, exciting season of SAB!
