The Block stars Sharon and Ankur slam their own builders
The Block contestants Sharon and Ankur’s war of words against their builders continued during Tuesday’s episode, with the couple calling their own team “lazy arseholes” in a stunning rant caught on camera.
Sharon and Ankur have frequently clashed with their builders this season, fielding complaints that they aren’t pulling their weight and spend too much time together off-site, while also complaining that their builders are ruining the mood and expecting too much from them.
Making a call to an unnamed friend from their car, the couple claimed they’d been working so hard on The Block that Ankur had lost 11kg.
“Then we’ve got these builders who are f**king idiots,” said Sharon.
“They’re arseholes,” said Ankur.
“Basically, they’re lazy, they don’t want to work past 5pm, one of them doesn’t want to work on Saturdays, whatever,” Sharon continued.
“The [builders] expect us to paint an eight-metre high ceiling, and then when it’s not painted correctly, they’re disappointed in the results.”
Ankur relayed his reaction to negative feedback from the builders: “I was like, ‘Oh, go get f**ked,’” he said.
Former Neighbours actress Sharon said she hadn’t anticipated her time on The Block to be “more dramatic” than her stint on the soap.
“I told you not to do it,” their friend could be heard telling them.
It appeared the feeling was mutual back on site, as the couple’s builders Liam and Scott fronted up to the camera to complain about their clients.
“I’m not coming back as a chippie or builder again,” Scott said of his Block experience.
Liam joked he might apply to be in Sharon and Ankur’s shoes as a contestant next season – “I am due for a holiday. I really think it would be much cruisier than my normal life. You guys can keep the prize money!”
But in an interview to camera, Sharon said this “negativity” from her builders had made The Block a difficult place to work each day.

“Having that negative vibe has affected my whole experience on The Block. I feel like if we had more positive great energy around us, that whole thing would be different,” she said.
Sharon and Ankur have made no secret of their struggles on The Block, and have been shown on camera several times throughout the season saying that they wish they’d never signed up for the show.
Those complaints even led to an awkward on-camera confrontation with host Scott Cam, who told them they didn’t have to stay if they were hating it so much and told them he needed an “attitude change” from them. Following that dressing down, the furious couple did leave The Block briefly – before eventually returning to site.
